Pupils are given the opportunity to perform in eisteddfods using their chosen style, presentations and concerts biennially. There are two performances of the concert a matinee and an evening show held at the Drama Theatre at Newcastle University.
Concert costume prices are kept to a minimum by material being bought in bulk in Sydney and by each groups costumes being made by the one dressmaker. Parents may only need to sew a few trims once costumes have been made. HVT also has a costume levy fund in operation which allows parents to pay off their costumes during the year by paying as little or as much as like each week.
